If I recently purchased a 3.0 VS2010 license (on July 12, 2012), will there be a charge to upgrade to 3.1 for VS2012? At the time, I thought I was purchasing a 2012 license, but found out after install that it was a 2010 license.

I just paid the upgrade fee for going from a 2.10 for VS2010 to the 3.0 license. My 2.10 license was a paid upgrade from a 2.8 license, and my 2.8 license was a paid upgrade from a 2.6 license. The 2.6 for VS2010 version was my original purchase. It even seems like paying for 3 upgrades is unreasonable, but if I have to pay for 4 upgrades, that is extremely unreasonable, and at that rate I would have to consider an alternative product. I am a one person development company, and my budget for software is very slim to begin with.

So I really hope there will be a way to upgrade my 15 day old 3.0 VS2010 license to a 3.1 VS2012 license as soon as the 3.1 VS2012 version is officially released.

Thanks,
JB

We also bought a new license and upgraded two others in july, less than two weeks ago. And we will switch to VS2012 in August, as soon as it is available. So is it really necessary to buy an upgrade license of vs.php in this case? What about a grace period for upgrading?

the lack of clarity on this subject is preventing me from ordering VS.Php. I won't place an order any time soon if I'm going to need to purchase an upgrade to the 2012 edition, and may just pass on VS.Php entirely.

Can we get some response from the team, please?

You can purchase a license for VS.Php for Visual Studio 2012.

We posted the link on Facebook so you need to like our page to get early access to purchasing this version:

Is that compatible with VS 2010? We're not upgrading for a few more months, but I don't want to purchase one major version and have to purchase another one when we do upgrade.

cori says:

It does *not* work with VS2010, as I expected.

Are you going to force users (me, for instance) who purchase Vs.PHP for 2010 because we're not upgrading the 2012 in the immediate future to burn the single version upgrade when we do make the upgrade jump?
